Reading answers did not fill me in with much context. Pledge of Allegiance is hard for some to explain to me as they have different meanings or too simple meanings in their own thoughts. On Google I found some references to very old essays on the meanings of the Pledge. As simple as it seems there is much depth there to be studies and understood and internalized. Old version before U.S. hated Com'nizm didn't reference any god, as if U.S. Of A. was all there was to have allegiance to. Interesting.
